Therefore, magnesium sulfate monohydrate and magnesium sulfate hetahydrate of the same mass, in which the percentage of magnesium elements, magnesium sulfate monohydrate is 1.78 times as much as magnesium sulfate hetahydrate.
3. In large-scale industrial production, both raw materials are sulfuric acid and magnesium oxide. However, the products produced by the same process are of different quality. This is because some unscrupulous manufacturers choose cheap industrial waste acid as raw material to produce magnesium hepatosulfate, in order to reduce the production cost. However, there are great safety risks in this practice, which needs to be analyzed from the source of industrial waste acid.
The main sources of industrial waste acid are metallurgy and electroplating industries. Large amounts of acid are used in the treatment of metal surfaces. When the metal examples and other impurities in the acid solution reach the concentration and treatment effect cannot meet the process requirements, the acid solution needs to be reformulated and replaced. In this process, a large amount of waste acid liquid will be produced. These waste acids have high concentration of acid, but also contain cobalt, titanium, chromium, arsenic and other heavy metal elements and a variety of inorganic impurities. Once such industrial waste acid goes into the next production process without treatment, its products will be polluted or even poisoned.
4. Once magnesium hetahydrate product is used in agricultural production, it will have a bad impact on the soil it is applied on. The acid ions and toxic heavy metals carried by impurity acid in industrial waste acid will be enriched in soil, animals and plants and eventually absorbed by human body.
5. Compared with magnesium sulfate monohydrate, the situation of using waste acid as raw material for magnesium sulfate monohydrate is optimistic. Due to the properties of magnesium sulfate monohydrate, if waste acid is used as raw material, the product of magnesium sulfate monohydrate will be gray-black instead of normal milky white. The color difference directly determines the product appearance.
