The content of MgO in magnesium oxide has reached 99.5%, and those of impurity CaO and Fe are less than 0.09% and 0.05%, grains less than 5μ reach to 72.3%, and the dispersivity of the product is good.
Computer calculations of equilibrium thermodynamics of Fe-Ti-C-O-Cl five elements system with HSC software illustrate that Panzhihua ilmenite with high calcium and magnesium oxides content can be directly converted into titanium tetrachloride and metallic iron using chlorine under proper conditions.
It is shown that the active magnesium oxide has different thermochemical be-havior in 27. 56%MsCl_2-H_2O solution. When the concentration of MgO is≤0.8914mmol(50mL solution)the molar enthalpy of MgO is almost identical small than when the concen-tration is higher. A mechanism for the reaction has been proposed in combination the resultswith that obtained in azeotropic hydrochloric acid-pH titration.
By improving the technology and equipment,the quality of 95% light magnesium oxide product can meet with the superior grade of standard HG/T 2573-94.
High purity magnesium oxide is prepared by hydrothermal synthesis. It has found in the experiment that the method is very effective in separating magnesium from calcium. In comparison with gas phase oxidation method, liquid phase dropping method, Sulmag method and Aman method, this method is simple, the quality of the product is rather steady and the content of magnesium oxide has reached 99.95%～99.98%.
Mg(NO3)2 reacts with PbO to form a intermediate of Pb6O5(NO3)2 at milling and calcinations process. The activated PbO and Pb3O4 by the intermediate reacted with Nb2O5 to form an unstable B-deficient pyrochlore structure of Pb3Nb2O8 , which progressively inserts magnesium oxide to transform into PMN-perovskite phase.
The concentration of manganese is less than 0.007%,the purity of magnesium oxide is beyond 98%.
